Busy working in the studio today on this idea. It is not just the 'main manne' that are important. These characters add amusement and joy to the whole tableau! #warthog #guineafowl #lilacbreastedroller #workinprogress #oilpainting

Artist in Africa
This interview was done thirty years ago. The sentiment is still the same. I still paint wildlife thirty years on, and still love the wildlife and the environment just as much as when I was a younger man. Now I have a grown family and grandchildren and I am proud to have done what I can for wildlife conservation and will continue to do do.
New giclée alert
This beauty will be up for sale in a few days. Limited edition. Get while you can!
Elephant charges
I have been very fortunate in my life to have lived in Africa for over 50 years. Growing up with access to the wildlife that inspires my life’s work and enjoying so much the freedom to be out in the bush for most of my time is something many people only dream of. #craigboneartist #wildlifeartist #elephantcharge
Working towards a Mini Art Show at the end of October with my daughter Maxine.
Maxine Bone and I are both working on some mini paintings for our Mini Art Show. It appears we have a little showdown going on, both working on guineafowl. I wonder who will finish first?

Buffalo at Victoria Falls
I painted this beauty a while ago. A really large oversize oil on canvas. It was painted with the Thomas Baines prints as an influence. I have to give respect to the fact that even today one can, thanks to the lack of commercialization of the Falls, stand where Livingstone and Baines once stood, see what they saw, experience the spectacular sight, and be completely in awe of the sheer size, sound and feeling of being there.
Mosi-o-tunya, The Smoke that thunders is the name for the falls in the local dialect. The mist that rises from the Falls at peak rainy season can be seen as far away as 15 miles. The rainbows it provides are incredible. The mist also supports a rain forest and an abundant biodiversity on the edges of Falls which have been declared a Unesco World Heritage Site. The forests, islands and gorges in this area serve as breeding sites for four species of endangered birds.
The Livingstone quote from 1855 “scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight".
